Terrence R. Tiersch

Terrence R. Tiersch is a Professor at the Louisiana State University Aquaculture Research Station and works with aquaculture farmers to help them improve the genetic quality of their products. In addition, he is one of the world’s experts on the cryopreservation of fish sperm, and works all over the world helping to freeze and store the sperm of endangered fish. His work integrates technology from a number of areas. He is currently involved in helping the National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Agriculture with their germplasm resources. In 2007, Terry worked with the our team in Puerto Rico to help cryopreserve the sperm of the endangered coral, Acropora palmata.
